For the International Council of the Belgian Notariat (CINB-IRBN), I am looking for a Legal Advisor - Regulatory Affairs with an interest in European and international legal affairs. Fluent in French or Dutch, with a good command of the other language and an excellent working command of English.
The International Council of the Belgian Notariat (CINB-IRBN) is a division of the Belgian Federation of Notaries (Fednot) and the National Chamber of Notaries. It promotes and defends the interests of the civil law notary profession before European and international institutions.
CINB-IRBN is a small organisation operating within the broader Fednot environment. Its team combines legal expertise with a strong European and international dimension and works closely with Belgian and foreign notarial organisations as well as European institutions.
The working environment is open, multilingual and collaborative, with considerable autonomy and direct exposure to European legal and regulatory developments.
Its offices are located in the "House of Notaries" in the centre of Brussels, close to Brussels Central Station and the Grand Place.
Following an internal evolution of the team structure, CINB-IRBN is now recruiting an additional Legal Advisor to strengthen its legal team.
As a Legal Advisor - Regulatory Affairs, you will follow European and international legal and regulatory developments that may affect the Belgian notarial profession and help translate these developments into practical and strategic positions.
The scope of the role is deliberately broad. Depending on the files and your own background and interests, you may work on matters relating to European corporate law, AML, family law and conflict of laws, consumer and contract law, internal market and competition law, new technologies, digital regulation or other areas relevant to the notarial profession.
You will not be expected to specialise in only one field. Instead, you will gradually develop ownership of several topics and work closely with your colleagues on a varied portfolio of European and international files.
More specifically, you will:
The role offers an unusual combination of legal analysis, European affairs, comparative law and institutional interaction, within a small team where you can take genuine ownership of your files.
