Job summary

Marsh seeks a Lead Engineer for the Vulcan Platform Team to provide technical leadership in the design, delivery and optimisation of platform and data engineering capabilities underpinning scalable, secure data products.

The successful candidate brings strong cloud-native engineering experience with AWS and Databricks, will lead engineers while remaining hands-on in architecture, design and delivery, and will shape engineering standards, automation, observability and governance to enable

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or related discipline.
Significant senior/lead experience in software/platform/data engineering.
Hands-on AWS design and delivery experience.
Databricks or data lakehouse experience in enterprise environments.
Proven ability to build and support scalable data pipelines and cloud-native platforms.
Experience leading engineers across cross‑functional teams.
Experience with automation, CI/CD and infrastructure as code.
Familiarity with security, risk and compliance in governed enterprises.

Responsibilities

Provide hands-on technical leadership across platform design and delivery.
Set and uphold engineering standards including testing, CI/CD and documentation.
Mentor engineers and drive technical delivery with cross‑functional teams.
