Job summary

Melexis is seeking an Embedded Systems Project Manager in Belgium to lead mechatronics and embedded system development from conception through market introduction. You will coordinate hardware, software and application engineering, manage scope, resources, schedule and budget, and be the primary technical interface to customers.

You will ensure adherence to automotive standards (ISO 26262, ASPICE), mitigate risks, monitor quality, and drive on-time delivery while maintaining strong customer

Qualifications

• Engineering master's degree in electronics, microelectronics or computer sciences.
• 10+ years of experience in the embedded systems industry.
• Strong understanding of HW/SW systems and IC design at block level.
• Advanced technical expertise at system/application level.
• Project leadership and technical coaching.
• Strong customer focus and results orientation.
• Meticulous attention to detail and quality.
• Fluent English in professional settings.
• Willingness to travel frequently (approximately 20%).

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the full project lifecycle for mechatronics and embedded systems, from conception to market introduction.
• Define and maintain detailed project plans, including scope, resource allocation, schedule, and budget management.
• Act as the primary technical interface for customers, ensuring system requirements are captured and aligned with objectives.
• Coordinate cross-functional collaboration between hardware design, software development, and application engineering teams.
• Ensure all deliverables adhere to automotive standards and quality processes, including ISO 26262 and ASPICE.
• Identify risks, dependencies and bottlenecks; implement mitigation strategies to keep development on track.
• Monitor project performance and quality metrics to meet internal benchmarks and customer expectations.
• Facilitate clear communication across stakeholders with regular progress updates, risks, and milestones.
