Job summary

Editx in Sint-Joost-ten-Node, Belgium, seeks a Lead Developer to shape cloud, platform, and integration strategy. You will drive architecture, enable teams, and codify standards while hands-on coding when needed to lead by example.

You will empower transformation at scale, aligning business needs with technology strategy, ensuring security, governance, and long-term platform maturity across multiple initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5y of Experience as Cloud SecDecOps engineer.
• Experience leading cross‑functional transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Understand the architectural vision and roadmap for cloud, platform, integration, and application modernization initiatives.
• Ensure solutions comply with enterprise standards, security requirements, governance principles, and target architectures.
• Drive architectural consistency while balancing innovation, pragmatism, and delivery speed.
• Translate business strategy into technology requirements and architectural initiatives.
• Identify emerging technologies and translate them towards platform requirements.
• Continuously challenge existing ways of working and propose improvements.
• Drive the adoption of modern engineering practices and cloud-native architectures with application teams.
• Support reference architectures, standards, blueprints, and technical guardrails.
• Ensure seamless integration between cloud platforms, applications, security services, data platforms, and operational tooling.
• Provide guidance on hybrid-cloud, public-cloud, platform engineering, observability, automation, and integration architectures.
• Support large transformation initiatives from inception through implementation.
• Work with program managers, product owners, architects, and engineering teams to ensure successful delivery.
• Identify architectural risks, dependencies, and technical constraints early.
• Facilitate decision making on complex technical trade-offs.
• Coach architects, technical leads, and engineers.
• Elevate architectural maturity across teams.
• Contribute to technical communities, knowledge sharing initiatives, and engineering excellence programs.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and development of architecture talent.

We are looking for an experienced and visionary Lead Developer to help shape the future of our cloud, platform, and integration landscape.

As Lead Architect, you are responsible for ensuring that technology decisions are clear and translated to the application development teams. To ensure alignment with their business objectives, enterprise architecture principles, security requirements, and long-term platform strategy. You act as an authority across multiple initiatives to enable delivery teams to move faster through clear standards, reusable patterns, and technical guidance.

This role is not focused on designing individual solutions, it’s about enabling transformation, integration and modernization at scale, connecting business needs with technology capabilities, supporting engineering teams, and driving architectural consistency across the organization. On top of that the lead developer is also able to assist in coding and implementing applications in the context of lead by example.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand the architectural vision and roadmap for cloud, platform, integration, and application modernization initiatives.

Platform & Integration Enablement

• Support reference architectures, standards, blueprints, and technical guardrails and ensure that all teams are guided in the correct direction.
• Ensure seamless integration between cloud platforms, applications, security services, data platforms, and operational tooling.
• Provide guidance on hybrid-cloud, public-cloud, platform engineering, observability, automation, and integration architectures.

Program & Transformation Support

• Support large transformation initiatives from inception through implementation.
• Work with program managers, product owners, architects, and engineering teams to ensure successful delivery.
• Identify architectural risks, dependencies, and technical constraints early.
• Facilitate decision making on complex technical trade-offs.

Technical Leadership

• Coach architects, technical leads, and engineers.
• Elevate architectural maturity across teams.
