Imec in Leuven, Belgium, is seeking a Principal AI & High-Performance Computing Architect to shape the next generation of AI computing systems. You will drive architectural explorations across AI applications, system software, processors, accelerators, and semiconductor technologies.

You will model and simulate architectures, collaborate with experts, and help define requirements for future AI platforms while pushing improvements in performance, energy efficiency, and sustainability.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related STEM field.
• 8+ years of experience in computer architecture, AI systems, high-performance computing, or a related domain.
• Experience analysing and optimizing large-scale computing workloads.
• Experience with distributed AI or ML workloads, such as large language model training or inference.
• Strong understanding of computing system architecture, accelerators, processors, and distributed software systems.
• Strong programming skills in C++ and Python.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
