Kuredhivaru Resort and Spa is seeking a Senior Landscaping Manager to lead all landscaping and horticultural operations across the resort, ensuring top-tier luxury standards for gardens, public areas, villa surroundings, and landscapes.

You will design planting concepts, supervise a diverse team, manage budgets, and coordinate with Engineering, Housekeeping, Sustainability, and Guest Experience to deliver exceptional outdoor environments and guest experiences.

• Diploma or degree in Landscaping, Horticulture, Agriculture, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills with a hands-on approach to daily operations.
• Excellent communication in English and ability to lead a multicultural team.

Job Description

• Lead and manage all landscaping and horticultural operations across the resort, ensuring gardens, lawns, beach vegetation, public areas, villa surroundings, pathways, and back-of-house areas are maintained to the highest luxury hospitality standards.
• Design and establish new gardens and landscape spaces, including developing planting concepts, selecting suitable plants, preparing soil, planning layouts, and overseeing planting and care during establishment.
• Supervise, train, and motivate the landscaping team, promoting high standards of work, safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement.
• Monitor and maintain the health of all plants, trees, palms, turf, and landscaped areas through effective irrigation, fertilization, pruning, pest control, and disease management.
• Adapt maintenance practices to sandy soils, salt exposure, strong winds, and limited freshwater availability.
• Oversee irrigation schedules, routine inspections, and minor maintenance, coordinating technical repairs with Engineering.
• Plan, coordinate, and oversee landscaping enhancement projects, garden redesigns, renovations, and new developments, ensuring timely completion within budget and in accordance with required quality standards.
• Develop and manage departmental budgets, control landscaping operating expenses, and oversee the procurement, inventory, and storage of plants, tools, equipment, fertilizers, and other landscaping materials.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Housekeeping, Sustainability, and Guest Experience teams to maintain exceptional outdoor environments and support resort initiatives, events, weddings, VIP visits, and special functions.
• Promote biodiversity and protect native plant species through water conservation, composting, green-waste reduction, and environmentally responsible pest management.
• Conduct regular inspections of all landscaped areas and implement corrective actions to maintain presentation, cleanliness, and operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and sustainability policies, including the safe handling and storage of fertilizers, chemicals, and landscaping equipment.
• Prepare reports, maintenance schedules, and project updates, while maintaining accurate records of landscaping activities, costs, inventory, and operational performance. Track water consumption, plant replacement rates, and progress against maintenance and project schedules to identify opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Landscaping, Horticulture, Agriculture, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in landscaping and horticulture, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role leading a landscaping team.
• Experience in hospitality, resorts, or luxury properties preferred.
• Demonstrated practical experience in designing planting layouts, establishing new gardens, and delivering landscaping improvement projects from concept to completion.
• A portfolio of completed landscaping projects is required, preferably including before-and-after photographs and a clear description of the candidate’s personal responsibilities and contribution.
• Knowledge of tropical plants, irrigation systems, plant care, turf management, and pest control, including practical experience managing sandy soils, salt exposure, coastal conditions, and water-efficient planting.
• Strong leadership, planning, and organizational skills, with a hands-on approach to daily operations, staff training, and problem-solving in the field.
• Ability to manage landscaping projects, budgets, and procurement activities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Good communication skills and the ability to lead a multicultural team.
• Good command of spoken and written English.
