Trelleborg Malta is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to perform physical and rheological testing of milled material. You will input data, check results against specifications, and help ensure lab compliance. The role emphasizes accuracy, safety, and clean, organized work practices.

Responsibilities include sample preparation, testing, release documentation, and maintaining lab records. A good foundation in secondary education and computer literacy is required.

Qualifications

• Secondary school education required.
• Computer literate.
• Onsite training completed.
• Able to follow testing instructions.
• Capable of working with minimal supervision.

Responsabilités

• Checking of samples for visual defects, separation, and proper identification.
• Moulding and conditioning test samples per Lab sample preparation & sampling plan (DM439/57).
• Rheology testing.
• Physical testing per Laboratory sample preparation & sampling plan (DM439/57).
• Releasing material and issuing release tickets.
• Raising rectification forms for materials that fail to meet specified parameters.
• Generating certificates for internal and/or external customers.
• Data entry of all results into the computer including backups.
• Filing Rheometer traces, rectification forms and printouts of results.
• Filing & retrieval of all laboratory data generated.
• Maintain cleanliness and 5S in the working area and instruments.
• Report hazards/near misses/incidents to area management.

We're looking for a Laboratory Assistant, where you'll be responsible for physical and rheological testing of milled material and inputting data into a computer and checking results against specifications or control limits.

Key Responsibilities

• Checking of samples brought in for visual defects, separation, and proper identification.
• Moulding and conditioning of test samples as per Lab. Sample preparation & sampling plan (DM439/57).
• Rheology testing.
• Physical testing as per ‘Laboratory sample preparation & sampling plan’ (DM439/57).
• Fluid ageing or other particular tests or testing where applicable as per Laboratory sample

preparation & sampling plan (DM439/57).

• Comparison of results with – -

Compound specification. - -

‘Release limits’ (where applicable).

Previous results.

• Releasing material and issue of release tickets.
• Raising rectification form (DM439/5) for materials that fails to meet the specified parameters.
• Generating certificates for internal &/or external customers as the need arises.
• Data entry of all results into the computer including maintenance of system such as back-ups.
• Filing all Rheometer traces, rectification forms and computer printouts of the results booked.
• Filing & retrieval of all other laboratory data generated.
• Responsible for cleanliness of working area and cleanliness of instruments (5S).
• Continuous attention to ensure that procedures are being strictly followed. Any deviations to be brought to the attention of immediate senior.
• Should wear lab overalls and other safety attire provided by the company and as per company safety policy and as per good laboratory practice.
• Compliance with the requirements of the ISO14001 environment management system and the ISO45001 occupational health and safety management system.
• Responsible for reporting any hazards / near misses / incidents immediately to the area management.
