Job summary

ALLNEX in Belgium is seeking a Junior Synthesis Lab Technician to execute syntheses of sustainable waterborne polymers with thermal and/or radiation curing within development projects for our strategic research group. You will prepare recipes, perform lab syntheses, monitor processes, test products, and maintain ELN records while supporting scale-up activities and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Professional bachelor’s degree in chemistry with preferred orientation in polymer science and/or industrial chemistry.
• Hands-on lab experience and problem-solving in a lab environment.
• Creative with a structured mindset and drive for results.
• Multilingual (NL/FR/EN) with strong teamwork and communication.
• Strong dedication to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare synthesis recipes according to defined guidelines.
• Perform laboratory syntheses for different product types and monitor process parameters.
• Organize and prioritize daily laboratory work to meet deadlines.
• Conduct product testing and report results.
• Maintain accurate records in the ELN.
• Request analytical testing and follow up on results.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure timely calibration.
• Monitor raw material stock levels and arrange product sampling.
• Follow laboratory quality, safety, and environmental procedures.
• Support scale-up activities and pilot batch follow-up.
• Participate in project-related internal and external meetings.

• Follow laboratory quality, safety, and environmental procedures.
• Support scale-up activities and pilot batch follow-up.
• Participate in project-related internal and external meetings.

Required skills and experience

• Professional bachelor’s degree in chemistry with preferred orientation in polymer science and/or industrial chemistry.
• Interest in working in a lab environment implying hands-on-the-job realizations and problem-solving.
• Creative personality with good chemical agility, structured mindset and engaged for driving results.
• Multi-lingual practice (NL/FR/EN) with demonstrated team spirit and excellent communication skills.
• Strong dedication to safety and quality standards.
