Job summary

allnex is seeking a Junior Synthesis Lab Technician in Belgium to perform synthesis of sustainable waterborne polymers and contribute to development projects. You will work in a laboratory environment, execute syntheses, test products, and help with scale-up activities in a global company.

The role requires a chemistry degree, hands-on lab experience, strong problem solving, and multilingual communication in NL/FR/EN.

Qualifications

• Professional bachelor’s degree in chemistry with a polymer science orientation.
• Interest in hands-on lab work and problem solving in a research setting.
• Creative, structured, and results-driven with good chemical intuition.
• Multilingual practice in NL/FR/EN and strong teamwork.
• Commitment to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare synthesis recipes according to defined guidelines.
• Perform laboratory syntheses for different product types and monitor process parameters.
• Organize and prioritize daily laboratory work to meet deadlines.
• Conduct product testing and report results.
• Maintain accurate records in the Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN).
• Request analytical testing and follow up on results.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure timely calibration.
• Monitor raw material stock levels and arrange product sampling when needed.
• Follow laboratory quality, safety, and environmental procedures.
• Support scale-up activities and pilot batch follow-up.
• Participate in project-related internal and external meetings.
