Sopra Steria is seeking an IT Support Engineer in Belgium to provide day-shift IT support both remotely and on-site. You will diagnose hardware, software and network issues, manage user accounts, and help maintain smooth IT operations across local and international projects.

Fluent English, Dutch and French are required. The role offers a flexible working arrangement, with dayshifts, nightshifts and weekends as part of the schedule and a path for growth via the Sopra Steria Academy.

Qualifications

• Training in IT support or proven experience in a similar role.
• First experience in providing first-line IT support or recent IT course/education.
• Basic hardware knowledge of desktops, laptops, printers and peripherals; installation and repairs.
• Familiarity with Windows and macOS, user management and updates.
• Basic networking concepts: IP addressing, routers, switches, Wi‑Fi, LAN.

An IT Support Engineer in a day-shift-system provides technical assistance and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues both remotely and on-site. They diagnose problems, implement solutions, and maintain systems to ensure smooth IT operations. Responsibilities include managing user accounts, and providing end-user support to minimize downtime and enhance productivity.

You have knowledge and experience of the following:

• Training in IT support (Syntra, VDAB...) or proven experience in a similar role.
• You have a first experience in providing first-line IT support or you just finished an IT course/education.
• You have basic knowledge of: Hardware: Understanding of basic hardware components, such as desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals. Experience with installation, troubleshooting, and repairs is valuable.
• Operating Systems: Familiarity with common operating systems (Windows, macOS). Knowledge of basic commands, user management, file systems, and updates.
• Software: Understanding of common software applications, such as Microsoft Office, O365, email clients, Intune, and basic troubleshooting of common software issues.
• Networking: Basic understanding of networking concepts (e.g., IP addressing, routers, switches, Wi-Fi, LAN).

Ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical users in a clear and friendly manner.

Basic experience with service desk- and remote tools (e.g. ServiceNow, Jira).

Certifications (optional but beneficial): CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Fundamentals, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)

Working hours: dayshifts, nightshifts & weekends

English, Dutch and French are required.
