HumanInTech is recruiting a junior Java/Angular developer to join a Belgian public-sector digital transformation programme in Brussels. You will work on backend Java and frontend Angular components, with focus on delivering new features and maintaining existing systems.

What you will do

You will join a digital transformation programme at a Belgian public-sector organisation, working on applications that support social and medical services for children and families. Your work will span both new development projects and the maintenance of existing systems.

Your activities will include:

• Developing and evolving backend Java and frontend Angular components
• Participating in technical design alongside functional analysts, technical leads and team members
• Writing unit tests and integration tests to meet quality standards
• Fixing bugs and implementing functional and technical improvements
• Contributing to code refactoring to improve readability, maintainability and performance
• Participating in code reviews with other developers
• Helping prepare and deliver deployments across different environments
• Collaborating daily with developers, functional analysts, testers and other project stakeholders
• Taking part in SCRUM ceremonies
• Documenting developments when necessary and sharing knowledge within the team

You will work on projects including the digitalisation of child medical and social records, prenatal social support systems, and vaccination data management. Depending on project phases and needs, you may work across several applications and functional domains.

What we are looking for

• Confirmed experience with Java and Angular
• Junior-level familiarity with DB2 or MySQL, CI/CD deployment (Docker), Flyway, IndexedDB/Dexie/Service Workers, JUnit/Mockito, REST/OpenAPI, SCRUM, and Spring/Spring Boot/JPA
• Native-level French
• Ability to work in a service-oriented architecture and Agile/SCRUM environment
• Commitment to clean code principles and development best practices

The setting

This is an assignment running from mid-November 2026 to the end of 2027. The role is hybrid, with a minimum of 50% presence required at the office in Brussels. The working language is French exclusively.

The technical stack includes Angular 21, Java 8/JEE7, Java 21, Spring Boot, NgRx, DB2, MySQL and Flyway. Build tools are Apache Maven, Git/GitLab CI/CD and Nexus.
