Rhox is seeking a junior Java/Angular developer to contribute to DOMES V2, Prénatal V1 and e-VAX 2.0. You will implement backend and frontend features, extend REST/OpenAPI services and work across online, offline and degraded workflows in a public health context.
You will collaborate in a SCRUM team with analysts, testers and developers, using Java 8/JEE7 up to Java 21, Spring Boot and Angular 21. The role involves CI/CD with GitLab, Docker and data persistence across DB2 and MySQL.
A public-sector organisation in French-speaking Belgium supports child and maternal services and vaccination programmes across Brussels and Wallonia. It is digitising the case-management tools used by field professionals. In this junior Java Angular developer role, you will contribute to DOMES V2, Prénatal V1 and e-VAX 2.0, building Angular 21 and Spring Boot features, REST/OpenAPI services and data-access components for public health applications.
The programme covers several applications used to manage child medical-social records from birth to age six, maternal social follow-up and vaccination data. DOMES V2 includes consultations and appointment planning, while e-VAX 2.0 adds cross-service vaccination records, supply-chain follow-up and decision-support data. The landscape combines Java 8/JEE 7 and Java 21, Spring Boot, JPA, Angular 21, NgRx, DB2, MySQL and Flyway. Some field applications must continue operating online, offline or in degraded mode, using IndexedDB, Dexie and service workers, so data handling and continuity are central design considerations.
Your day-to-day work will cover both new development and maintenance across the programme's applications. You will implement backend and frontend components, investigate defects, improve existing code and contribute to releases through GitLab CI/CD and Docker. Unit and integration tests, code reviews and technical documentation are part of the delivery process, with JUnit and Mockito used to support quality. You will work in SCRUM with developers, functional analysts, testers and a technical lead; the planned mission runs from mid-November 2026 to the end of 2027.
