Elia Group in Brussels is seeking a Junior Expert Digital Substations to contribute to the development and deployment of advanced digital technologies in Elia’s substations. You will join the Virtual Substations team, shaping the substations of tomorrow by evaluating solutions, engineering methodologies and tools for IEC 61850 based projects.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent experience in Electrical/Electromechanical/Automation Engineering.
• Fluent in English and Dutch or French.
• Strong interest in digital substations and protection & control systems.
• Willingness to learn PAC systems modelling using SCL and IEC 61850.
• Baseline knowledge of IEC 61850 data models and engineering concepts a plus.

Responsabilités

• Support design and engineering of digital PAC systems for high‑voltage substations.
• Develop and maintain IEC 61850 system models and SCL files.
• Contribute to engineering methodologies, processes and tools for digital substations.
• Assist testing, simulation and validation to ensure IEC 61850 compliance.
• Collaborate with internal experts, manufacturers and integrators to implement solutions.
• Prepare technical documentation and present concepts to stakeholders.
