Sabena Engineering is seeking a Junior Compliance Engineer/Safety Investigator to support the compliance and safety management system, conduct audits, and serve as a contact point for customers and authorities. You will process reports, assist in investigations, and contribute to training initiatives.

The role requires a Master’s degree in engineering, knowledge of aviation regulations, and strong English plus Dutch or French communication skills.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in civil or industrial engineering or equivalent is required.
• Knowledge of aviation regulations; PART 145 experience is a plus.
• Strong MS Office and administrative skills are essential.
• Detail-oriented, analytical, independent and objective in approach.
• Process- and improvement-oriented mindset is expected.
• Fluent in English and French or Dutch with excellent communication skills.

Your Main Responsibilities:

• Supporting of the compliance/safety management system activities, including hazard identification and risk assessment
• Perform compliance /safety audits and issue associated reports, incl monitoring implementation of corrective/preventive actions.
• Act as quality/safety point of contact for customers, internal depts and Authorities (BCAA and foreign Authorities), both for day-to-day operations as external audits/visits organized throughout all Sabena Engineering Sites.
• Process external and internal occurrence reports,
• Perform internal safety investigations to derive safety recommendations to operational departments, follow up with Production.
• Prepare training material and give training related to Compliance and Safety procedures
• Monitor and assess regulatory changes, inform stakeholders
• Support the maintenance of the approved manuals, develop /review quality/safety procedures , recommendations and solutions in close cooperation with involved department’s representatives.
• Manage the publication of company approved documentation
• Follow-up on assigned Compliance/Safety KPIs
• Participate in projects (Continuous Improvement, regulatory scope extensions)

Your Profile:

• You have a Master degree civil or industrial engineering, or equivalent by demonstrated experience
• Having knowledge of aviation regulations, more specifically for a PART 145 environment is an asset.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and administrative skills.
• You have a keen eye for details and work precisely and analytically, with the ability to maintain independence and objectivity
• You think and act with a process- and improvement oriented mindset
• You have a dynamic and flexible attitude, you’re an aviation addict, eager to learn and grow
• You are fluent in English and French or Dutch with excellent communication skills.
