Octave BricsCAD is seeking a Junior Software Developer to join one of our Core or Manufacturing development teams in Ghent, Belgium. You will contribute to core CAD technology, user-facing functionality and workflows across 2D/3D design, assembly, sheet-metal and production-documentation areas.

You will design, implement and test software with a focus on correctness, performance and maintainability, while collaborating closely with experienced team members and product managers in a hybrid work

Qualifications

• Bachelor, Master or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or related field.
• Experience with C++11 or later, through professional, personal or student work.
• Basic knowledge of OO design, algorithms and complexity.
• Willingness to explore a large software product and learn quickly.
• Ability to work with geometry and linear algebra concepts.
• Strong English written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test and maintain BricsCAD software functionality.
• Develop reliable, efficient solutions meeting product requirements.
• Contribute to a large, existing codebase and improve quality.
• Write automated tests and participate in code reviews.
• Investigate defects, perform root-cause analysis, understand user workflows.
• Collaborate with developers, tech leads, product managers and stakeholders.
• Participate in planning, reviews and retrospectives.
• Develop technical knowledge and contribute to tooling improvements.
