Our client is a leading international law firm with a strong Banking & Finance practice, seeking a junior associate to join the Global Loans team in Brussels. You will advise on Belgian and cross-border financing transactions, draft and negotiate finance documentation, and collaborate with international teams.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of Banking & Finance experience, a Belgian Master’s in Law, and fluency in English and French (Dutch helpful).

Qualifications

• Belgian Master’s degree in Law with a strong academic background.
• 1–2 years of experience in Banking & Finance at a leading law firm.
• Fluent in English and French; Dutch is advantageous.
• LL.M. and/or business education would be an asset.

• Advise clients on Belgian and cross-border financing transactions.
• Assist in drafting, reviewing and negotiating finance documentation and security packages.
• Support transactions involving leveraged finance, acquisition finance and real estate finance.
• Participate in matters related to infrastructure finance, structured finance, securitisation and debt capital markets.
• Coordinate transaction processes, closings and conditions precedent with local and international teams.
• Conduct legal research and provide strategic support on complex financing structures and debt restructurings.

Your responsibilities

In this role, you will:

Let’s talk about you

We are looking for a candidate who:

• Holds a Belgian Master’s degree in Law with a strong academic background.
• Has between 1 to 2 years of experience in Banking & Finance within a leading international or Belgian law firm.
• Has strong analytical and drafting skills, with a genuine interest in complex financing matters.
• An LL.M. and/or additional business education would be considered an asset.
• Is fluent in English and French; knowledge of Dutch is considered an advantage.
• Demonstrates a proactive mindset, strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in an international team environment.
