• Master degree in the humanities or communication sciences (or other).
• Experience communicating/valorizing scientific research in health policy and well-being.
• Good command of research methodology (epidemiological).
• Technical skills: interpretation of health indicators; knowledge of graphic design and multimedia tools.
• Experience with R is a plus.
• Team player; ability to work independently; proactive and precise.
• Fluent in French and Dutch; strong English skills.

Jr. Scientist – Research Communication and valorization “BELHEALTH Cohort Study”

You will join the Health Surveys team within the Health Information Service (Epidemiology and Public Health); the Health Information Service generates and valorizes health information to support health policy. The Health Surveys unit organizes the Belgian National Health Survey, in addition to various other projects related to health surveys. You will join the team working on the BELHEALTH project, an online cohort study of approximately 10,000 individuals, and you will support this team’s scientific activities in the areas of disseminating and communicating research findings.

BELHEALTH has three main objectives: 1) monitoring trends in the health and well‑being of the population; 2) to identify factors influencing resilience and vulnerability with regard to individuals’ health and quality of life; 3) to inform and support policymakers and other stakeholders in guiding prevention policies, strengthening societal resilience, and investing in appropriate structural support.

Your responsibilities will include :

• creating content for the website and social media; drafting newsletters and press releases, etc.; planning and organizing a workshop;
• translating research findings into infographics, recommendations for government agencies, and policy briefs;
• reviewing recommendations and initiatives in the field of health and social policy related to well‑being and quality of life;
• conducting research on participant retention; developing strategies for recruitment and retention within the context of the cohort study.

Profile

• Master degree in the humanities or communication sciences (or other)
• Experience: communication/valorization of scientific research in the field of health (policy) and well‑being (policy)
• Good command of research methodology (epidemiological)
• Technical skills: interpretation of health indicators; knowledge of graphic design and multimedia tools
• Experience with R is a plus
• General skills: team player; ability to work independently and a desire to learn; critical thinking and proactivity; ability to work with precision and in a structured manner
• Language skills: a good command of French ANDDutch; a good command of English
