Empiric in Brussel zoekt een Senior Java Developer die ontwerpen en bouwen van Java-applicaties verzorgt binnen een Agile/DevOps team. Je levert backend services met Java en Spring Boot, ontwikkelt REST-API's en draagt bij aan microservices en integraties, met focus op kwaliteit en schaalbaarheid.

Je hebt een bachelor of master in informatica of vergelijkbaar, ervaring met Java/Spring Boot, CI/CD, Docker/Kubernetes en relevante tooling zoals Git, Jira en Confluence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor- of Mastergraad in computer science of gelijgde richtingen.
• Professionele ervaring in Java softwareontwikkeling binnen een enterprise-omgeving.
• Aantoonbare ervaring met Java en Spring Boot.
• Ervaring met REST API's ontwerpen, ontwikkelen en integreren.
• Kennis van moderne applicatie-architecturen zoals microservices en API-integraties.
• Ervaring met relationele databases en database-access vanuit Java.
• Kennis van softwareontwerp en architecturale principes.
• Ervaring met geautomatiseerd testen, versiebeheer en CI/CD.
• Praktische kennis van Docker en Kubernetes; OpenShift is een extra voordeel.
• Werkervaring in Agile/Scrum/DevOps-omgeving.
• Goede kennis van Git, Jira en Confluence.
• Kennis van frontend-technologieën zoals Angular of React is een plus.
• Interesse in extra technologieën zoals Kotlin of Quarkus is een voordeel.
• Sterke analytische en probleemoplossende vaardigheden.

Responsabilités

• Ontwerpen, ontwikkelen, testen en onderhouden van Java-applicaties.
• Bouw backend-componenten en services met Java en Spring Boot.
• Ontwikkelen en integreren van REST API's.
• Bijdragen aan de modernisering van bestaande applicaties.
• Ontwikkelen van microservices en API-gebaseerde integraties waar mogelijk.
• Vertalen van functionele vereisten naar kwalitatieve technische oplossingen.
• Bewaken en verbeteren van kwaliteit, prestaties, schaalbaarheid en betrouwbaarheid.
• Schrijven en onderhouden van geautomatiseerde tests.
• Bijdragen aan CI/CD-processen en automatisering van build, test en deployment.
• Samenwerken met developers, architects, Product Owners en andere stakeholders.
• Bespreken van vereisten, technische beslissingen en verbeteringsvoorstellen met klanten.
• Actief bijdragen aan kennisdeling en continue verbetering binnen het team.

As a Senior Java Developer, you design, develop, and optimize modern software applications that meet our clients' needs. You work within an Agile or DevOps team and are involved throughout the entire application lifecycle: from analysis and technical design to development, integration, testing, implementation, and maintenance.

You build new Java solutions and contribute to the modernization of existing applications. You pay close attention to quality, scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability.

Thanks to your technical expertise, you are not only a strong developer but also a valuable discussion partner for clients and colleagues. You actively contribute to architectural decisions, technical improvements, and sustainable solutions for complex application challenges.

What will you do?

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Java applications.
• Build backend components and services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Develop and integrate REST APIs.

What do you bring?

• You have a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, IT, or a comparable field.
• You have professional experience in Java software development within an enterprise environment.
• You have demonstrable experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• You have experience designing, developing, and integrating REST APIs.
• You have knowledge of modern application architectures, such as microservices and API-based integrations.
• You have experience with relational databases and database access from Java applications.
• You have knowledge of software design and relevant architectural principles.
• You have experience with automated testing, version control, and CI/CD.
• You have practical knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with OpenShift is an additional advantage.
• You are comfortable working in an Agile, Scrum, or DevOps environment.
• You are familiar with tools such as Git, Jira, and Confluence.
• Experience with frontend technologies such as Angular or React is a plus.
• Interest in additional technologies such as Kotlin or Quarkus is an advantage.
• You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• You have strong communication skills and can explain complex technical topics clearly.
