Job summary

Abakus IT-Solutions is seeking a software engineering expert to implement business components in the Apache Solr ecosystem for a Belgian public organisation. You will analyse requirements, estimate efforts, and develop and maintain Solr-based solutions within a Java/Spring stack.

You will follow CI/CD practices, write technical documentation, and participate in OWASP training. Remote work is allowed up to 2 days per week; main site is Charleroi, Belgium.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or Master’s in IT; master asset.
• 5+ years of IT experience including software development (design, implementation, testing, maintenance).
• Professional/Certified Scrum Master or Professional/Certified Scrum Developer certification (any date).
• Completed OWASP training (external certificate or documented internal training).

Responsibilities

• Analyse requirements and estimate effort to deliver technical solutions.
• Develop new solutions and maintain or improve existing components.
• Follow technical standards and CI practices.
• Carry out unit and integration testing; perform testing activities.
• Write technical documentation and installation guides; contribute to operations docs.
• Keep technical knowledge up to date and attend specialised training when needed.
