Twenty8, an independent IT services firm, seeks a Java Developer to support a prestigious European Institution in Brussels. You will develop, maintain, and enhance Java applications, focusing on secure authentication, REST/SOAP services, and scalable architecture.

The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams, adherence to Agile practices, and producing clear technical documentation. Hybrid work with on-site presence in Brussels at least 3 days per week is expected.

Qualifications

• University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
• Strong knowledge of Java and Spring Framework.
• Experience with REST/SOAP Web Services and system integration.
• Understanding of web security using OAuth/OpenID Connect.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases.
• Experience with development tools such as Git, Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, SonarQube and GitHub.
• Experience with Agile methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent command of English.

We are currently seeking a Java Developer to support a prestigious European Institution in Brussels.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop, maintain and enhance software applications using Java technologies and modern development frameworks;
• Design, build and integrate software components while ensuring code quality, scalability and maintainability;
• Develop secure applications by implementing authentication and authorization mechanisms (OAuth, OpenID Connect);
• Design and consume REST and/or SOAP Web Services;
• Troubleshoot, debug and resolve software issues while improving application performance;
• Produce clear and comprehensive technical documentation;
• Participate in system integration, deployment and configuration activities;
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams following Agile methodologies and software development best practices.

REQUIREMENTS:

• University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field;
• Excellent knowledge of Java and Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Hibernate);
• Good knowledge of REST/SOAP Web Services and software integration;
• Good understanding of web security, authentication and authorization protocols (OAuth, OpenID Connect);
• Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases (Oracle experience is an asset);
• Experience with development tools such as Git, Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, SonarQube and GitHub;
• Experience working with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban);
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills;
• Excellent command of English.

This is a hybrid role, requiring on-site presence in Brussels at least 3 days per week.
