Ney & Partners, an architecture and engineering office, seeks a Japanese-speaking bridge engineer to strengthen our Brussels team. You will design and dimension bridges and special structures, prepare calculation reports, and participate in meetings with stakeholders.

With a Master's in Civil Engineering and Japanese proficiency, you will work under a project engineer on various project phases, from preliminary to construction design, in a dynamic international environment in Brussels.

Qualificações

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering.

• Proficient in Finite Element software: AutoCAD, Rhino, Grasshopper, SCIA Engineer or Sofistik; or equivalent.
• Knowledge of structural calculations and Eurocodes.

Responsabilidades

• Design and dimension bridges, cycle bridges, or special structures per applicable standards.
• Prepare calculation reports for design phases and ensure quality and approval by the inspection body.
• Contribute to specifications, bills of quantities, and cost estimates.
• Attend meetings with project stakeholders and conduct site visits to monitor progress.
• Collaborate with project engineer, architects and technical draftsmen.

Ney & Partners is an architectural and engineering office, specialised in the design of bridges, special structures and exceptional buildings. Currently, more than 150 people are working on projects in Belgium, Luxembourg, France, the Netherlands, Japan and Vietnam. As part of the development of Ney & Partners' activities in Brussels, we are looking for a motivated Japanese speaking bridge engineer to strengthen our engineering team.

You are proficient in all or some of the technical aspects, as well as the calculations involved in various projects or project components. You always work under the supervision of a project engineer throughout the various phases of the project.

What are your main tasks?

• You will design and dimension (parts of) bridges, cycle bridges or special structures in accordance with the applicable standards.
• You will draw up calculation reports during the various project phases (preliminary design, detailed design, construction design) and monitor their quality. You will ensure that these reports are approved by the inspection body.
• You will participate in drawing up the specifications, bills of quantities and cost estimates.
• You will attend meetings with the various project stakeholders as well as site visits to monitor progress.
• You will work alongside the project engineer, architects and technical draughtsmen at the firm.

Who are you?

• You have (recently) completed your Master's degree in Civil Engineering. Work experience is an advantage but not a requirement.
• You have an excellent command of Japanese, both spoken and written.
• You are proficient in using the Finite Element software package: AutoCAD, Rhino, Grasshopper, SCIA Engineer or Sofistik; or equivalent.
• You have knowledge of structural calculations and the design of structures in accordance with the Eurocodes.
• You are eager to learn, have good interpersonal skills, are proactive and results-oriented.
• You are attracted by the innovative structures that our office develops.
