Job summary

Syngenia is seeking an experienced Senior Geotechnical Design Engineer to lead geotechnical studies for challenging infrastructure projects in Brussels. You will provide technical support on-site and prepare specifications, ensuring compliance with current standards and client requirements.

You will guide CAD designers, contribute to project planning, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including soil mechanics, hydraulics, rail, overhead lines, and signaling to ensure cohesive project

Qualifications

• 5 to 15 years in a geotechnical or civil engineering role.
• Master's degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnics.
• Fluent in French or Dutch, with good knowledge of the other language.
• In-depth geotechnical knowledge, experience guiding CAD designers, and strong analytical skills within budget/time constraints.

Responsibilities

• Conduct geotechnical studies on foundations, retaining structures, embankments and ground improvement.
• Guide CAD designers in creating detailed plans and designs.
• Contribute to project planning and phasing for efficient execution.
• Analyze and develop feasible solutions considering budget and timing.
• Collaborate with soil mechanics, hydraulics, rail, overhead lines, signaling teams for project integration.
• Prepare technical specifications and provide on-site support.
• Report to stakeholders on project progress and outcomes.
