Atlas Copco Group in Wilrijk, Belgium is seeking an IT Technology Engineer - Full Stack Java Development to design, develop, deploy, and support software solutions used in global manufacturing facilities. You will own the full lifecycle, modernize legacy systems, and collaborate with international IT teams, with a hybrid on-site/remote setup.

Strong Java, cloud (Azure), and frontend framework experience are key to success.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent ICT/Software Engineering field
• Proven professional experience in Java development with structured lifecycles
• Fluent in Dutch and English (spoken and written)
• Experience or interest in cloud services and Azure deployments
• Exposure to manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, or frontend frameworks like Angular/Vaadin is a plus

Your role

Are you an analytical Java developer who wants to build, modernize, and own the critical applications driving global smart factories and supply chains?

What does a Java developer – manufacturing applications (IT technology engineer) do at the Atlas Copco Group in Wilrijk? As a Java developer – manufacturing applications, you will join the Portable Air Application Development Team to design, develop, deploy, and support software solutions (WMS/APS/PLE) used by production facilities worldwide. In this role, you will take ownership of the full application lifecycle, translating complex functional requirements into robust, scalable technical designs. You will build new features, modernize legacy systems, and deploy applications to virtual machines or Microsoft Azure cloud environments. Acting as the technical application owner, you will execute technical validations, manage stable releases, and provide advanced second- and third-line troubleshooting. Furthermore, you will collaborate closely with the Business Process Organization, key users, and international IT teams, while handling essential maintenance, patching, and technical documentation to ensure future-proof manufacturing operations.

In this role, you will report to the application development team leader and work via a hybrid model at our facility in Wilrijk.

To succeed, you will need

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent advanced ICT/Software Engineering field is a MUST.

• Proven professional experience in Java development with a strong track record in structured development lifecycles

• Professional fluency in both Dutch and English (spoken and written) to collaborate within local and global teams

• Experience or strong interest in cloud services, deployments, and monitoring within Microsoft Azure environments

• Prior exposure to manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, or front-end frameworks like Angular and Vaadin is a major asset
