Atlas Copco Group is seeking an analytical Java developer to build and modernise applications driving global smart factories. You will join the Portable Air Application Development Team to design, develop, deploy, and support software solutions used worldwide.
The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science and has proven experience in Java development. Strong fluency in Dutch and English along with an interest in cloud services, particularly Microsoft Azure, is required.

Are you an analytical Java developer who wants to build, modernise and own the critical applications driving global smart factories and supply chains? As a Java developer – manufacturing applications, you will join the Portable Air Application Development Team to design, develop, deploy and support software solutions (WMS/APS/PLE) used by production facilities worldwide.
In this role you will take ownership of the full application lifecycle, translating complex functional requirements into robust, scalable technical designs. You will build new features, modernise legacy systems, deploy applications to virtual machines or Microsoft Azure cloud environments and act as the technical application owner to execute technical validations, manage stable releases and provide advanced second‑ and third‑line troubleshooting.
Furthermore, you will collaborate closely with the Business Process Organisation, key users and international IT teams, while handling essential maintenance, patching and technical documentation to ensure future‑proof manufacturing operations. You will report to the application development team leader and work via a hybrid model at our facility in Wilrijk.
