Atlas Copco Group Belgium is seeking a System Engineer for Team FDA in Wilrijk. You will build, maintain, and scale digital manufacturing solutions, acting as the primary link between production, suppliers and internal teams to ensure secure, compliant digital operations.
You will configure and maintain connected devices, support industrial software, and own the digital twin roadmap while leading projects in a hybrid work setting at our Wilrijk facility.

What does a system engineer – team FDA do at the Atlas Copco Group in Wilrijk? As a system engineer in Team FDA, you will play a vital role in building, maintaining, and scaling digital manufacturing solutions that enable operational excellence. Acting as the key link between production, external suppliers, and internal teams (such as Smart Factory, Integration, IT Infrastructure, and Networking), you combine process knowledge with technical expertise to ensure reliable, legally compliant, and secure digital operations.
Your daily flow as a system engineer involves configuring, onboarding, and maintaining connected industrial devices (machines, tools, measuring equipment, PCs, tablets, scanners) and ensuring their seamless integration with factory networks. You serve as the key user and primary point of contact for manufacturing digital solutions (such as CAD/CAM, TDM, KUKA sim, EVOMA, CAQ, MOMS, ENOVIA, or SAP), providing first-line support, troubleshooting network and OT issues, and leading system updates. Additionally, you take full ownership of the digital twin roadmap for your department, leading projects to build connected digital twin ecosystems that transform how our factory operates. You will work via a hybrid model at our facility in Wilrijk.
Master's degree in Engineering, Automation, Industrial IT, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment with a hands-on, proactive mindset
Professional communication skills in both English and Dutch, both written and spoken
Strong affinity with IT and digital systems, including basic networking concepts (IP/MAC addresses, VLANs, DNS) and basic server administration (remote login, service restarts)
Experience with Windows-based systems, OT/industrial cybersecurity fundamentals, and connected factory hardware
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and project-leading skills to define roadmaps for digital twin ecosystems
Experience acting as a key user, super user, or system owner for industrial software applications (e.g., MOMS, CAQ, CAD/CAM, SAP, ENOVIA) is considered a clear advantage
