Job summary

Umicore Group in Belgium is looking for a Senior AI Leader to drive AI adoption and business transformation across enterprise functions, identifying high-value initiatives aligned with CORE strategy and delivering measurable outcomes.

You will partner with business leaders and cross-functional teams, own and deliver AI projects and roadmaps, ensure governance, ethics, and data quality, and promote AI literacy through training and change management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field.
• Proven track record delivering business value through AI, automation, analytics or digital transformation.
• Ability to identify and communicate AI impact on business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Drive AI adoption and business transformation across Umicore by identifying, prioritizing and implementing high-value AI initiatives aligned with business objectives.
• Partner with business leaders and functional teams to identify opportunities where AI can improve operational efficiency and support strategic growth.
• Own and deliver assigned AI projects, use cases and roadmaps within EF Enterprise Function, ensuring measurable business outcomes and value realization.
• Lead and coordinate cross-functional AI initiatives from concept through deployment, bridging business and technical teams.
• Support AI solution design, development and implementation activities, including data preparation, model evaluation and deployment planning.
• Ensure AI solutions are scalable, compliant with governance requirements and aligned with responsible AI practices.
• Promote AI literacy across the organization through training, workshops and change management.
• Contribute to AI Watchtower and AI Radar by monitoring market trends and opportunities for Umicore.

Your Key Accountabilities

• Drive AI adoption and business transformation across Umicore by identifying, prioritizing and implementing high-value AI initiatives aligned with business objectives and the CORE strategy.
• Partner with business leaders and functional teams to identify opportunities where AI can improve operational efficiency, generate business value and support strategic growth.
• Own and deliver assigned AI projects, use cases and roadmaps within selected EF Enterprise Function, ensuring measurable business outcomes and value realization.
• Lead and coordinate cross-functional AI initiatives from concept through deployment, acting as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams.
• Support AI solution design, development and implementation activities, including data preparation, model evaluation, deployment planning and continuous improvement.
• Ensure AI solutions are scalable, compliant with governance requirements and aligned with responsible and ethical AI practices.
• Promote AI literacy across the organization through training, workshops, stakeholder engagement and change management activities.
• Contribute to the IgnAIte AI Watchtower by monitoring AI market trends, emerging technologies and industry developments, assessing their relevance and potential business impact for Umicore.
• Contribute to the AI Radar by tracking AI deployments, use cases and innovation opportunities across Umicore.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including business leaders, Digitalization, IS, BIT, CRD, Legal, Communications teams, vendors and external AI partners.

Who we are looking for

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Business Intelligence, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field.
• Proven track record of delivering business value through AI, automation, analytics or digital transformation initiatives.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to identify, quantify and communicate the impact of AI on business outcomes.
• Experience managing complex cross-functional projects and engaging senior stakeholders in a global organization.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business language.
• Knowledge of Generative AI, predictive analytics, automation technologies and commercial AI platforms.
• Understanding of data governance, data quality, AI readiness and responsible AI principles.
• Experience in change management, user adoption and organizational transformation initiatives.
• Familiarity with AI governance frameworks, risk management and ethical AI deployment.
• Self-driven, collaborative and results-oriented professional with a passion for innovation and practical AI adoption.
• Be able to work 3 days from Hobboken office, 2 days remote .
