Job summary

Umicore is seeking a forward‑thinking AI leader to drive enterprise AI adoption across our global enterprise functions. You will partner with senior leaders to identify high‑value AI opportunities, manage cross‑functional projects and ensure governance and ethical AI practices.

You will lead deliveries from concept to deployment, coordinating data prep, model evaluation and deployment planning. The role emphasizes change management, AI literacy, and strategic communication to realise measurable

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Business Intelligence, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field.
Proven track record of delivering business value through AI, automation, analytics or digital transformation initiatives.
Strong business acumen with the ability to identify, quantify and communicate the impact of AI on business outcomes.
Experience managing complex cross-functional projects and engaging senior stakeholders in a global organization.
Strong stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business language.
Knowledge of Generative AI, predictive analytics, automation technologies and commercial AI platforms.
Understanding of data governance, data quality, AI readiness and responsible AI principles.
Experience in change management, user adoption and organizational transformation initiatives.
Familiarity with AI governance frameworks, risk management and ethical AI deployment.
Self-driven, collaborative and results-oriented professional with a passion for innovation and practical AI adoption.
Be able to work 3 days from Hoboken office, 2 days remote.

Responsibilities

Drive AI adoption and business transformation across Umicore by identifying, prioritizing and implementing high-value AI initiatives aligned with business objectives and the CORE strategy.
Partner with business leaders and functional teams to identify opportunities where AI can improve operational efficiency, generate business value and support strategic growth.
Own and deliver assigned AI projects, use cases and roadmaps within selected EF Enterprise Function, ensuring measurable business outcomes and value realization.
Lead and coordinate cross-functional AI initiatives from concept through deployment, acting as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams.
Support AI solution design, development and implementation activities, including data preparation, model evaluation, deployment planning and continuous improvement.
Ensure AI solutions are scalable, compliant with governance requirements and aligned with responsible and ethical AI practices.
Promote AI literacy across the organization through training, workshops, stakeholder engagement and change management activities.
Contribute to the IgnAIte AI Watchtower by monitoring AI market trends, emerging technologies and industry developments, assessing their relevance and potential business impact for Umicore.
Contribute to the AI Radar by tracking AI deployments, use cases and innovation opportunities across Umicore.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including business leaders, Digitalization, IS, BIT, CRD, Legal, Communications teams, vendors and external AI partners.
