Job summary

Imec Leuven is offering an internship focused on fabricating and characterizing an integrated biological nanopore-electrode readout platform. The project builds on ALBiC and aims to enable electrical readout of nanopores with integrated electrodes in microfluidic chambers.

In a second phase, the platform will incorporate nanofluidic channels and the student will work on optimizing processing and delivering a demonstrator device, including optical and electrical characterization.

Qualifications

• Internship in fabrication and characterization of nanopore platforms.
• Experience with cleanroom processes and device testing is desirable.
• Strong background in relevant science or engineering fields.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and characterize an integrated biological nanopore-electrode readout platform.
• Optically and electrically characterize nanopores on the platform.
• Assist in optimizing processing for integrated nanofluidic channels and demonstrator device.
