Job summary

Imec in Belgium offers a Master or PhD internship focused on high-throughput electrical biosensing with liquid-gated EGFETs. The project characterizes IdVg, sensor stability and biosensing sensitivity across electrolyte conditions, using a probe station and microfluidic setup to automate exchanges between solutions.

The internship lasts 6 months and is mentored by Pol Van Dorpe (KU Leuven). Imec provides an allowance for students from non-Belgian universities.

Qualifications

• Master or PhD internship position at Imec.
• 6 months duration.
• Promoter: Pol Van Dorpe (KU Leuven) and reference 2026-INT-309.

Responsibilities

• Electrically characterize IdVg of liquid-gated EGFET sensors.
• Assess sensor stability and biosensing sensitivity under varying electrolyte conditions.
• Use probe station and microfluidic setup for controlled measurements.
• Report dose-response, drift, hysteresis and noise characteristics.
• Contribute to development of a fully integrated real-time biosensing platform.
