ESA, the EFTA Surveillance Authority, seeks an officer in the Food and Veterinary Unit to audit food and feed safety, animal health and welfare, and to act as desk officer for EEA EFTA States. The role focuses on applying EEA legislation, coordinating audits, and engaging with authorities in Iceland and Norway, in an international setting.

The successful candidate will lead audits, prepare reports, and support wider IMA work with strong analytical and communication skills. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Veterinary degree or a master’s degree in veterinary science.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and guide audit teams.

Responsabilités

• Plan, conduct and lead audits in food and feed safety, animal health and welfare and prepare audit reports.
• Act as desk officer in the food and veterinary field, assessing compliance and following up with national authorities.
• Apply and interpret relevant EEA legislation and propose action for consistent implementation across EFTA States.
• Cooperate with team members during audits to maintain a collaborative environment.
• Engage with Icelandic and Norwegian authorities and other stakeholders for timely follow‑up.
• Contribute to the wider work of the IMA Directorate in an international setting.
