Job summary

BDO Belgium is seeking an Internal Audit Manager in Risk Advisory to help organizations navigate complex risk landscapes from our Zaventem office. You will lead risk-based internal audits, strengthen internal controls, and mentor a growing team of professionals.

You will collaborate with clients across Europe, drive innovative approaches, and contribute to business development while ensuring high-quality deliverables and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in business administration, law, economics, management, finance, or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in Internal Audit, Internal Control, External Audit or similar.
• Familiarity with IIA standards and COSO/ISO 31000; financial services experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical and facilitation abilities to guide clients.
• Proven leadership, autonomy and ability to run workshops and presentations.

What will you be doing?

As an Internal Audit Manager in Risk Advisory, you'll be at the forefront of helping organizations navigate complex risk landscapes, ensuring their strategies and operations align with their goals. You'll be working on several risk and control related services such as Internal Audit and Internal Control. You will be working from the Zaventem office being part of the Risk Advisory department (50 people in Belgium); and working in the Business Risk team.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Execute & report on risk-based internal audits, providing clients with practical, value-driven advice;
• Support your clients in optimizing their internal control frameworks, providing pragmatic and practical solutions and considering automation where possible;
• Take responsibility for the entire project, and the quality of work of the whole team;
• Manage multiple concurrent projects with transparency, ensuring timely delivery and clear communication;
• Drive innovation by introducing fresh ideas in project execution and product development;
• Being a trusted relationship manager for your clients. Collaborate with clients to gain a thorough understanding of their context;
• Actively think about BDO's business & product development, market trends, and formulate suggestions for improvement;
• Serve as a mentor and trusted advisor to junior team members, empowering them to excel;
• Support team efficiency by ensuring knowledge sharing.

What do you bring to the table?

• Educational Background: Master's degree in business administration, Law, Economics, Management, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum 6 years of experience in Internal Audit, Internal Control, External Audit or a similar field.
• Skills & Expertise:
  • Familiarity with internal audit standards (IIA) and risk frameworks (COSO, ISO 31000). Experience in Financial Services industry is an asset.
  • Strong analytical and facilitation abilities to guide clients effectively.
  • A passion for improving organizational efficiency and providing pragmatic solutions to client problems.
  • Capacity to demonstrate leadership, autonomy and animate client's workshop & presentation.
• Language Proficiency: Excellent command of Dutch or French and English.
• Mindset: Ownership-driven, entrepreneurial, and willing to go the extra mile when needed.
• Flexibility: Eager to travel (Europe and outside) when needed and adapt to diverse client contexts.
