Job summary

Accenture Construct seeks a senior professional to lead transmission interconnection strategies and regulatory engagement for utility-scale PV and BESS projects in Puerto Rico. You will own the full interconnection lifecycle, coordinate with PREPA and LUMA teams, and ensure study results and IA negotiations align with tariffs and project goals.

Demonstrated experience in interconnection reviews, IA administration, and cross-functional coordination with legal, EPCs, and utilities is required;

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in electric utility interconnection, transmission planning, energy regulatory affairs, or a combination thereof.
• Direct experience managing interconnection processes for utility-scale generation projects (PV, BESS, or equivalent); Puerto Rico (PREPA/LUMA) interconnection experience strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience reviewing interconnection study results and negotiating or administering Interconnection Agreements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the company’s transmission interconnection strategy and regulatory engagement across portfolios of PV and battery energy storage projects.
• Own the full interconnection lifecycle for each project: pre-application coordination, formal application submission, study phase management, IA negotiation, and commissioning milestone tracking.
• Review interconnection study results (scoping, system impact, facility studies) for technical accuracy and cost reasonableness; prepare challenges or requests for reconsideration.
• Negotiate Interconnection Agreements with support from legal counsel, track IA milestones and post-IA requirements.
• Coordinate protection, metering, SCADA, and telemetry requirements between Coquí Power, EPC contractors, and the utility; assign and track obligations.
• Monitor transmission service requests and generation-tie studies; evaluate firm vs non-firm options and impact on project dispatch.
• Track PREPA and LUMA Energy regulatory proceedings, rate cases, tariff filings and grid modernization initiatives.
• Track PREB dockets, IRP processes, and reliability standards; assess impacts on permitting, operations, and compliance obligations.
