We are looking for an Integration & Workflow Engineer to join our international team and contribute to the design, development, and implementation of secure, scalable, and reliable integration solutions and business workflows across complex enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, plan, and implement integration strategies and patterns, including API-led and event-driven architectures, within secure Java EE and HTTP/S environments.
- Apply distributed architecture principles and best practices to solve complex integration challenges between information systems.
- Design, develop, and document secure APIs exposed through public-facing API Gateway platforms.
- Design, implement, and document business events to be produced through corporate event-streaming platforms and consumed by different enterprise systems.
- Design, plan, implement, and deploy business workflows, including process definitions and service or user tasks based on APIs and business events.
- Develop, deploy, and manage integration solutions within containerised infrastructures such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for integration components, supporting automated testing, building, and deployment.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise the performance, reliability, security, and scalability of integration points and data flows.
- Design and implement asynchronous communication and event-driven integration solutions using messaging and publish/subscribe patterns.
- Ensure integration components and workflows comply with organisational standards for security, scalability, maintainability, and operational resilience.
- Collaborate with engineering, architecture, development, and business teams to ensure cohesive integration across enterprise systems.
- Produce comprehensive technical and architectural documentation covering integration patterns, APIs, workflows, and system interactions.
- Prepare operational and design reports to support technical decision-making and knowledge sharing.
- Contribute to the adoption and effective use of open-source technologies and communities relevant to enterprise integration.
- Participate in meetings with international and multicultural stakeholders and technical teams.
What We Are Looking For (Requirements):
- Strong professional experience with HTTP and API design.
- Excellent knowledge of Java EE (JEE) and API development and consumption using both RESTful and SOAP web services.
- Strong experience with at least one BPMN workflow engine.
- Excellent knowledge of asynchronous communication and publish/subscribe technologies such as Apache Kafka and JMS.
- Strong understanding of integration testing best practices.
- Good knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native architectures.
- Good knowledge of gRPC and Protocol Buffers (Protobuf) for high-performance remote procedure communication.
- Good understanding of distributed and microservice architectures and complex event processing.
- Knowledge of web security principles and authentication and authorisation standards such as OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect.
- Experience with Integration Platform as a Service (iPaaS) and Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) solutions such as MuleSoft, Apache Camel, or Oracle Service Bus.
- Experience with API management platforms and tools such as WSO2 or CAPI, including API security, publication, lifecycle management, and analytics.
- Proficiency with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Bamboo, or GitLab CI for automating integration solution deployment.
- Good understanding of enterprise integration patterns and distributed system principles.
- Ability to design and document complex integration architectures and patterns.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyse complex technical integration challenges.Ability to contribute to and leverage relevant open-source technologies and communities.
- Excellent written communication skills, with a strong focus on technical documentation.
- Ability to produce clear IT architecture documentation, operational reports, and technical design documents.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to operate effectively in an international and multicultural environment.
- Ability to participate in multilingual meetings.
- Good command of English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of French would be considered an additional asset.
