Job summary

Transman Consulting client, a Luxembourg based Insurance company, is seeking an Insurance Accountant (m/f) to strengthen its finance team. The role focuses on technical insurance accounting, fund and investment accounting, and regulatory reporting under LuxGAAP.

You will drive process improvements, ensure accurate general-ledger entries for premiums, claims and commissions, and support tax declarations and audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting or finance.
• At least 3 years of experience in (Life) Insurance accounting.
• Strong knowledge of Luxembourg accounting standards and tax principles.
• Fluency in French; good level in English.
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel; MS Dynamics/Anaplan a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely entry of premiums, claims, commissions into the general ledger.
• Drive fund accounting with outsourced administrators/managers.
• Oversee accounting and reconciliations of the non-linked investment portfolio.
• Control consistency between management systems and accounting.
• Support monthly and annual closings (LuxGAAP) and regulatory reporting.
• Prepare and control tax and VAT declarations.

Insurance Accountant (m/f)

Responsibilities

• Technical Insurance Accounting
  • Ensure timely and accurate entry of complex business flows (premiums, claims, commissions) and financial data into the general ledger
• Fund Accounting
  • Drive the operational unit-linked fund processes and accounting in collaboration with outsourced administrators/managers
• Investment Accounting
  • Oversee accounting and reconciliations of the non-linked investment portfolio, supported by outsourced investment accounting and manager
• Reconciliation & Analysis
  • Control consistency between management systems and accounting
  • Analyze technical suspense accounts in a multi-company environment
• Process Optimization
  • Use technical expertise to identify efficiency and control improvements and actively contribute to the optimization of accounting and reporting processes.
• Reporting & Compliance
  • Participate in monthly and annual closings (LuxGAAP), prepare regulatory reports for the Commissariat aux Assurances (CAA), and support external audits
• Tax & Fiscal Control
  • Prepare and control tax and VAT declarations before submission

Profile

• Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting or finance
• At least 3 years of experience in (Life) Insurance accounting
• Strong knowledge of Luxembourg accounting standards and tax principles. Insurance and / or financial service experience preferred
• Fluency in French is a must - a (very) good level in English is also expected
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Knowledge of MS Dynamics and/or Anaplan is a significant advantage
• Ability to adopt a hands‑on approach in supporting management in all aspects of the day-to-day administration of the business
• Excellent communication skills and attention to details
• Ability to work on own initiative and liaise with all levels of management
