Job summary

Syngenia SA in Belgium seeks a Structural Engineer to design and calculate structures (concrete, steel, wood, etc.) from concept to implementation study. You will work with the Structural Engineering teams and, for geotechnical aspects, coordinate with the Geo Engineering team.

At assignment start, you will set documents and timing with the Lead Engineer, work to agreed hours, and report any unforeseen issues.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of relevant technical experience in design and engineering for infrastructure or building projects, including structural calculations.
• Knowledge of stability concepts in infrastructure or building projects.
• Good understanding of applicable construction techniques.
• Speak French or Dutch, or both, with very good knowledge of English.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for design and calculation of structures from concept to implementation study.
• Collaborate with the Structural Engineering teams and, for geotechnical aspects, with Geo Engineering.
• At assignment start, agree with Lead Engineer on documents to be supplied and timing.
• Carry out work according to agreed hours and report unforeseen matters to Lead Engineer.
• Communicate progress of work to Lead Engineer and Manager on a regular basis.
• Help with preparation of quotations and contracts.
• Strive for sustainable and efficient structural solutions.
• Keep track of standards, guidelines and developments in the field.
