Stageo, based in Brussels, is seeking a product engineer to design, build and ship an end-to-end product for managing classes, camps, academies and clubs. You’ll influence product direction, UI/UX, and architecture while collaborating directly with the founder and customers.

We value strong React/TypeScript fundamentals, product instincts, and the ability to learn. You’ll work in a small, autonomous team with significant impact and flexible hybrid work.

Stageo is looking for a Product Engineer to join our team in Brussels.

We're building an all-in-one platform for organisations running classes, camps, academies and clubs, and we're looking for our first engineering hire.

We're looking for someone who is full-stack by ability, but product-minded by nature. Someone who knows there's a difference between a component and a component.

About Stageo

Running classes, camps, academies and clubs at scale is surprisingly complex.

Registrations, memberships, schedules, payments, invoicing, websites, CRM, communications, attendance, bookings, access control, and usually a few spreadsheets holding everything together.

Stageo brings all of that into one product.

Today, organisations use Stageo every day to run their operations. Hundreds of thousands of participants interact with organisations running on our platform, with tens of millions of euros in transactions flowing through it every year.

We're a team of 3, bootstrapped and profitable. We're now expanding beyond Belgium and towards increasingly large and complex organisations.

Our challenge: how do you make increasingly powerful software feel incredibly simple?

The kind of engineer we're looking for

We're looking for a product engineer who can design, build and ship an excellent product end-to-end.

Product taste matters a lot to us.

You notice when spacing is slightly wrong. You think about empty states, loading states and micro-interactions. You care about whether an action belongs in a dropdown or deserves its own button. You can look at a technically correct interface and feel that something isn't right.

And you're comfortable going beyond the interface: changing an API, writing a migration or digging into a database query when the product requires it.

We also use AI heavily to build software.

We don't expect you to spend hours writing code an agent can produce in minutes. But we also don't believe that “it works” means it's finished.

Use AI to get to 90%. Then open the code and turn it into 105%.

That last 15%, the judgment, simplicity, interactions, consistency and tiny details, matters enormously to us.

What you'll do

Stageo is already a large product. The challenge isn't to build an MVP. It's to make years of functionality increasingly coherent, fast and delightful while continuing to build what comes next.

You’ll:

• Design and build features from database to final interaction
• Turn complex workflows into experiences that feel obvious
• Rethink existing parts of the product that accumulated complexity over time
• Improve our UI, interactions and design system
• Work directly with customers to understand the problems behind their requests
• Make product and technical decisions with a high degree of autonomy
• Ship frequently and see your work used almost immediately

You won't just implement tickets and backlog, you'll help shape the solutions behind them.

We'd probably be a good match if...

• You're excellent with React and TypeScript
• You've built and shipped real web products
• You're comfortable across frontend, backend and databases
• You have a particularly strong instinct for UI and UX
• You care about typography, spacing, hierarchy and interaction design
• You use AI extensively, without outsourcing your judgment to it
• You think in workflows rather than individual screens
• You're curious about the business behind the software
• You genuinely care about craft

You might pay attention to products like Linear, Attio or Stripe. Not because we want to copy them, but because you understand why they feel good to use.

We don't care much about a particular degree or an arbitrary number of years of experience. We care about what you've built and how you think.

Our infrastructure runs on AWS · Terraform · Kubernetes · RDS · Redis.

You don't need experience with everything. Strong React/TypeScript fundamentals, product instincts and the ability to learn matter much more.

Working at Stageo

We're based in Brussels and like working together in person, while keeping flexibility for remote work.

As part of a team of 3, you'll work directly with the founder, interact with customers and have an unusual amount of influence over the product and how we build it.

We speak French, English and Dutch within the team. You don't need to speak all three. Being comfortable working in either French or English is enough.

You'll have a real role in shaping how Stageo builds product as we grow.
