Twenty8 is looking for an Information Systems Architect to support a prestigious European Institution in Brussels. This role focuses on designing and evolving information systems architecture while driving architecture decisions and ensuring scalable solutions.

The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience, strong knowledge of software architecture principles, and be fluent in English. This is a hybrid role, requiring on-site presence at the Brussels office three days per week.

We are currently seeking a Information Systems Architect to support a prestigious European Institution in Brussels.

This role will focus on the design, evolution and governance of enterprise information systems, driving architecture decisions, supporting complex integration initiatives and ensuring scalable, secure and future-proof technical solutions across business‑critical platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, review and evolve enterprise information systems architecture and technical building blocks;
• Define solution architectures for complex applications and integration scenarios across multiple systems;
• Design integration strategies using APIs, microservices and interoperability technologies;
• Participate in technical working groups, stakeholder meetings and architecture governance activities;
• Support testing, deployment, technical documentation and solution evaluation;
• Collaborate with project managers, business stakeholders and development teams to ensure successful solution delivery.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Information Systems Architect, Solution Architect or Enterprise Architect (8+ years);
• Strong knowledge of software architecture principles, design patterns and enterprise architecture frameworks;
• Experience designing microservices‑based and distributed architectures;
• Good understanding of interoperability technologies, web services and enterprise integration patterns;
• Experience with relational databases and data modelling;
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or similar) and modern DevOps practices;
• Experience working with Agile methodologies and software development lifecycle tools;
• Knowledge of architecture modelling methodologies and tools (ArchiMate, TOGAF, BPMN, ARIS or similar) is a strong asset;
• University degree in a relevant field;
• Fluency in English (C1);
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in multicultural environments.

This is a hybrid role, requiring on-site presence at the Brussels office 3 days per week.
