VeroTech is seeking an Information Management Specialist to support researchers in applying Open Science and enhancing information assets. You will integrate a data catalog and glossary into daily workflows while shaping broader information management practices across projects.

You will collaborate with researchers, ICT and stakeholders to translate needs into tooling, standards and guidance, delivering consistent metadata and structured data across domains.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of work experience or demonstrated high potential as an analytical thinker.
• Affinity with information governance, data governance and metadata management.
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills to model information structures.

Responsabilités

• Drive the adoption of Open Science practices across research and business communities.
• Lead the adoption of the data catalog and business glossary within researchers’ workflows.
• Guide researchers in managing datasets, definitions, reports, code and ML models via workshops and training.
• Support the preparation and implementation of Data Management Plans in projects.
• Collaborate with ICT and stakeholders to gather needs and build prototypes.
• Improve policies, standards, templates, terminology and metadata for consistent management.
• Design document libraries and maintain ontologies for coherent terminology and reference data.

About The Role

As an information management specialist at VeroTech, you support researchers in applying Open Science principles and improving the way information assets are structured, described and reused. You help integrate a data catalog and business glossary into daily research workflows while contributing to broader information management initiatives. You work closely with researchers, ICT and business stakeholders to translate needs into practical tooling, standards and guidance. Your contribution helps create consistent metadata, clear terminology, reusable document structures and stronger data management practices across research projects.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the adoption of Open Science practices through collaboration across research and business communities
• Lead the business adoption of the data catalog and business glossary within researchers’ workflows
• Guide researchers in managing datasets, definitions, reports, code and machine-learning models through workshops, visual tools and training materials
• Support the preparation, completion and implementation of Data Management Plans in relevant projects
• Collaborate with ICT and stakeholders to gather needs, build prototypes and validate information management tooling
• Improve policies, guidelines, standards, processes, templates, terminology and metadata for consistent information management
• Design document libraries and maintain ontologies that bring coherence to terminology, definitions and reference data

What we’re looking for

• Master’s degree or equivalent experience
• 2+ years of work experience, or demonstrated high potential as an analytically strong junior with the right mindset
• Affinity with information governance, data governance and metadata management
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills, with the ability to model information structures, processes and metadata
• Excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills, including the ability to explain complex concepts with diagrams and structured presentations
• Confident in facilitating workshops, aligning diverse stakeholders and building a network among researchers and project managers
• Self-directed, ownership-driven and adaptable, with a solution-oriented and creative approach to ambiguous challenges
• Working proficiency in Dutch and English, spoken and written
• Experience with SharePoint, software tool development or Power BI is considered a plus
