Motherwell Bridge Industries Limited seeks an Electrical Technician to inspect, maintain and repair electrical systems on port equipment, including STS and RTG cranes, mobile equipment, and other heavy industrial machinery, at the Head Office, Hal-Far.

The role ensures safe, reliable operation and compliance with industry standards, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting and commissioning of new systems as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems (AC/DC motors, drives, PLCs, relays, sensors).
• Ability to read electrical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
• Experience with diagnostic tools and electrical testing equipment.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces when required.
• Strong awareness of safety in heavy industrial and port environments.

Responsabilités

• Perform preventive and corrective electrical maintenance on cranes and terminal equipment.
• Inspect and repair electrical systems including motors, drives, PLCs, sensors, wiring, distribution boards, and control panels.
• Troubleshoot faults and diagnose failures using appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Conduct routine tests, calibrations, and inspections to ensure operational efficiency.
• Able to work on 1-phase and 3-phase systems which are not connected to the grid.
• Support breakdown recovery to minimise operational downtime.
• Assist with installation, upgrades, and commissioning of new electrical systems and components
