The Laboratory of Causal Systems Immunology at VIB is seeking a PhD student or postdoctoral researcher to advance in vivo perturbational screening using single-cell CRISPR technologies developed in house. The position offers the opportunity to screen dozens of molecular factors in vivo during development and disease, accelerating discovery of immune regulators.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a related field or PhD for postdoctoral applicants.
• Experience in experimental or computational biology is required.
• Fluency in written and spoken English is essential.

Responsabilités

• Learn and apply the complete screening pipeline from stem-cell engineering to data analysis.
• Develop and test improvements in single-cell methods and vector design.
• Apply the technology in steady-state and disease settings.
• Analyse perturbational data to identify causal regulators of immune-cell states.
• Close the loop between computational predictions and experimental validation.
• Present work at conferences and publish in scientific journals; supervise Master’s and PhD students where appropriate.
