Citymesh NV in Belgium is seeking an IT Engineer to join our Operations team for Temporary Solutions. You will help build and manage temporary networks and CCTV infrastructure for events and international projects across Asia and Latin America.
The role covers configuring Wi‑Fi, private 4G/5G networks, CCTV and digital signage; tailoring installations to site challenges; and on-site monitoring and maintenance between events.
We are Citymesh, a Belgian telecom operator and technology company using connectivity to help organisations work smarter, safer and more efficiently. From 0G to 5G, we build solutions for businesses, cities and industries, always with a strong focus on what technology should deliver in practice.
You’ll find our solutions at Brussels Airport, in the Port of Zeebrugge, at BASF and at events such as Tomorrowland. We build private mobile networks, provide critical communications and use drones and other wireless technologies where they can make a real difference.
From Belgium, we continue to grow our projects and activities both at home and abroad. We stay curious about what can be done better, turn knowledge into solutions that make an impact and never lose sight of the people behind the technology.
Citymesh is on the lookout for an IT Engineer to join our Operations team for Temporary Solutions. A team that's all about delivering temporary connectivity and surveillance solutions to a diverse range of industries: from campsites, theaters, sports championships and exhibition halls to Belgium's biggest festivals. As an IT Engineer you’ll play a crucial role in building and managing the temporary network and CCTV infrastructure that keeps Belgian’s biggest events, as well as exciting international projects across Asia and Latin America, running smoothly. Think of Tomorrowland, Graspop, Dour, Les Ardentes etc.
More specifically, this includes:
You configure and set up temporary networks, ranging from high-performance Wi-Fi to private 4G and 5G networks, CCTV and Digital Signage, specifically tailored for each event.
Working closely with clients and colleagues, you tailor (network) installations to perfectly match the specific technical challenges of any given location and ensure excellent network service.
You are physically present during events and festivals to monitor the infrastructure, keep everything running without a hitch, and step in immediately when needed.
In between events, you maintain and optimize our existing temporary network setups and CCTV solutions so we are fully prepared for the next big project.
You are responsible for setting up, testing, documenting, and maintaining network solutions, ensuring accurate technical reports, configurations, and performance data.
You hold a Master's degree in Computer Science, with a strong foundation in network theory, routing, firewalls, and security.
Bringing a few years of experience in IT or networking is a plus, more important is that you know how to tackle complex technical issues pragmatically.
Setting up our temporary installations comes naturally to you, thanks to your knowledge of or strong interest in wireless networks, Wi-Fi, 4G, and 5G but also CCTV.
Working on-site at events and festivals appeals to you much more than spending every single day behind a desk.
Flexible, not in yoga, but in your work hours, adapting to changing demands.
Ready to embrace the summer rush, with your schedule hitting its peak. You're also willing to work during the week-ends.
Communicating with clients and team members is straightforward for you, helping you translate technical realities into exactly what the client needs.
At Citymesh, you'll join an enthusiastic and ambitious team where your input matters and where you have room to keep growing.
A good job is about more than the role itself. Flexibility, time off, mobility and a solid salary package matter too. Here's what you can count on:
A full-time permanent contract with an attractive salary package, including €8 meal vouchers per working day, eco vouchers, hospitalisation insurance, a CAO90 bonus, year-end bonus, net expense allowance and the annual sector premium under PC 200.
A 40-hour working week, giving you 20 statutory holidays plus 12 additional ADV days each year. Because there should still be time for life outside work.
From June to September our working schedule can be crazy during the week and week-end, but we offer a generous financial compensation for the number of overtime hours worked during the set-up or on-site support for events.
Flexible working hours and the possibility to work from home approximately 2 days per week, depending on the schedule and time of the year (during the summer months you'll often be on-site).
A company car with fuel or charging card. Prefer another way of getting around? A mobility budget and bike leasing are also available.
A flexible benefits plan that lets you shape part of your salary package, including options such as multimedia, pension savings and additional insurance.
A free mobile subscription and the option to get your home internet through Citymesh at an absolute bargain price.
Room to keep growing through internal workshops, external training and relevant certifications.
A warm workplace with plenty of humour, the occasional bad joke, and an afterwork team that knows how to mix things up (from karaoke nights to boat trips and even a diving session).
Food brings us together: fresh fruit on Mondays, tasty soup three times a week and fries on Fridays. And every now and then, pizza, sushi, after-work drinks or a barbecue make an appearance too.
Our office in Gierle is easy to reach, as it's close to the high-way.
