Job summary

Pauwels Consulting Belgium seeks a Data Functional Analyst to join a multidisciplinary agile data office, bridging business requirements with technical specifications to deliver impactful data products.

You will lead discussions with business SMEs to capture data needs, translate requirements into detailed specs, design data models with data architects, ensure GDPR/security compliance, and coordinate testing and user training. The role is hybrid in Brussels with 3 days remote and 2 onsite.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data functional analysis and data warehouse modelling (Kimball).
• 3+ years with Microsoft on-premise stack: SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, Power BI.
• Proven track record in analyzing and designing complex data flows for operational and analytical use.
• Strong data literacy and understanding of business processes.
• Proactive, autonomous with ownership and delivery focus.
• Excellent problem-solving and presentation skills.
• Fluent in French and Dutch; active English knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead discussions with business SMEs to identify data needs and processes.
• Translate business requirements into functional and technical specs for data flows and solutions.
• Design and validate conceptual and logical data models with data architects.
• Develop functional designs for BI developments aligned with governance and security leads.
• Liaise with data protection officers to ensure GDPR and security compliance.
• Coordinate testing of data products and facilitate user training to encourage adoption.
