Job summary

Bridge Industrial bv. in the Antwerp area is seeking an experienced HSE Supervisor to ensure safe construction activities and compliance with Belgian legislation.

You will implement the HSE&S Plan within the Project Delivery Team and provide hands-on site safety supervision from prep through construction. Strong knowledge of HSE legislation, 15+ years in supervision on major projects, and fluent Dutch and English are required.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of HSE supervision on major construction sites.
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and standards.
• Experience with Belgian construction projects is a strong advantage.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in Dutch and English.

Responsibilities

• HSE Management: Implement and supervise the HSE&S Plan within the Project Delivery Team.
• Site Safety: Provide hands-on safety supervision from site prep through construction and intervene on unsafe acts.
• Construction Support: Advise on constructability, site accessibility, traffic routes, equipment transport and lifting strategies.
• Contractor Management: Coordinate with contractors and third parties on HSE matters and follow up on non-conformities.
• Compliance: Work with the Legal Safety Coordinator to ensure compliance with Belgian temporary and mobile worksites regulations.
• Inspections & Audits: Participate in safety inspections, contractor audits and external audits.
• Risk Management: Review RAMS and safe execution plans, and monitor environmental permits.
• Reporting: Provide daily HSE reporting to the Construction HSE Manager and support the Project Manager.

As an HSE Supervisor, you will join a major industrial construction project in the Antwerp area. You will ensure the effective implementation of HSE standards within your Project Delivery Team, supporting safe construction activities and compliance with Belgian legislation and project requirements.

Your main responsibilities:

• HSE Management: Implement and supervise the HSE&S Plan within your Project Delivery Team.
• Site Safety: Provide hands‑on safety supervision from site preparation through construction and intervene on unsafe acts or conditions.
• Construction Support: Advise on constructability, site accessibility, traffic routes, equipment transport and lifting strategies.
• Contractor Management: Coordinate with contractors and third parties on HSE matters and follow up on non-conformities.
• Compliance: Work with the Legal Safety Coordinator to ensure compliance with Belgian temporary and mobile worksites regulations.
• Inspections & Audits: Participate in safety inspections, contractor audits and external audits.
• Risk Management: Review method statements, RAMS and safe execution plans, and follow up on environmental monitoring and permit conditions.
• Reporting: Provide daily HSE reporting to the Construction HSE Manager and support the Project Manager and Construction Manager.

Your profile

We are looking for an experienced, hands‑on HSE professional with a strong construction background.

You have:

• A degree in an appropriate engineering discipline or equivalent professional qualification.
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and standards.
• 15+ years of HSE supervision experience on major construction sites.
• Experience with construction projects in Belgium is a strong advantage.
• Strong communication, influencing, planning and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively with contractors, project teams and international stakeholders.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and English.
