HSE Lead – Biologics Remediation & Ramp-Up

Job summary

Nalys is seeking an experienced HSE Coordinator to join a Biologics manufacturing site during remediation and ramp-up. You will drive HSE priorities, ensure legal compliance and build a strong safety culture on the shop floor.

The role combines field work with project coordination and requires hands-on leadership to clear backlogs and support safe restart. You will collaborate with production, engineering and facilities teams, leading investigations, risk assessments and audits while maintaining

Qualifications

• At least 5 to 8 years of HSE experience in an industrial environment.
• Belgian Prevention Advisor certification, Level 2 (Level 3 can be considered).
• Knowledge of ISO 14001 standard.
• Proven project management and coordination skills, preferably on remediation or compliance programs.
• Hands-on experience with CAPA, investigations, risk management and methods such as HAZOP.
• Familiar with GMP or other quality-driven, regulated environments.
• Autonomous, able to handle several priorities and communicate with all levels.
• Fluent in French and read/write English comfortably.
• Experience in pharma, biotech or aerospace, in shutdowns or ramp-ups, or in designing HSE training is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Defining and coordinating HSE priorities for the manufacturing area.
• Representing the manufacturing area in HSE governance forums.
• Steering remediation initiatives on legal compliance, CAPA, incident management and risk assessments.
• Building and monitoring HSE action plans, prevention plans and KPIs.
• Managing work permits, fire permits, contractors and co-activities during shutdown and ramp-up.
• Leading investigations of incidents, near misses and deviations and following up on corrective actions.
• Maintaining workstation risk assessments and contributing to HAZOP studies.
• Running GEMBA walks, supporting audits and following up on observations.
• Coordinating HSE aspects of new equipment and facility projects.
• Organizing HSE communications, training sessions and awareness initiatives.
• Planning, prioritizing and tracking remediation tasks to keep objectives on course.
