Job summary

DPS Group Global is recruiting an HSE Engineer / Safety Engineer for a major pharmaceutical manufacturing programme in Geel, Belgium. The role focuses on integrating HSE throughout engineering and project execution, advising on safety risks and leading risk assessments.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, support contractor safety, conduct safety walks and audits, and drive continuous improvement of safety practices on site in Geel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Health & Safety or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in HSE within industrial/project environments.
• Pharma/chemicals/petroleum process industry experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of Belgian health and safety regulations is advantageous.

For a major investment programme within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment, we are looking for an experienced HSE Engineer / Safety Engineer.

You will work closely with multidisciplinary project teams and ensure that Health, Safety & Environment requirements are integrated throughout engineering and project execution.

Your responsibilities

• Integrate Health, Safety & Environment requirements into engineering and construction projects
• Advise project teams on safety risks and appropriate preventive measures
• Perform and facilitate risk assessments
• Support contractor safety during project execution
• Perform safety walks, inspections and audits
• Follow up on safety observations, incidents and corrective actions
• Work closely with Project Managers, engineering disciplines, contractors and site HSE teams
• Ensure compliance with internal HSE procedures and applicable Belgian safety requirements
• Promote a strong safety culture across the project team

Your profile

• Technical Bachelor's/Master's degree or relevant qualification in Health & Safety
• Experience in HSE within an industrial and/or project environment
• Experience within pharma, chemicals, petrochemicals or another process industry is highly desirable
• Knowledge of Belgian health and safety regulations is an advantage
• A Belgian Prevention Advisor / Preventieadviseur qualification is a strong asset
• Strong communication and coaching skills
• Professional proficiency in English
• Willing to work regularly on-site in Geel
