Jan De Nul invites an experienced HSE Advisor to lead safety on major civil projects in Belgium. You will work with site management, perform risk analyses, prepare HSE documentation and organize toolbox talks to keep projects safe and compliant.

You will monitor safety, investigate incidents and participate in audits, while coaching teams and coordinating with subcontractors. A strong character and adaptable scheduling are essential.

Qualifications

  • Holds a Level 2 safety advisor certification.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ relevant safety experience in construction.
  • Proficient in English and French.
  • Strong communication and coaching skills.
  • Ability to work in teams and independently.

Responsabilités

  • Monitor safety and progress via risk analyses and safety inspections.
  • Consult with site/project management and engage foremen, workers, subcontractors.
  • Prepare reports, safety procedures and toolbox meetings.
  • Develop project-specific documents (HSE plan, emergency plan, inspection/testing plan).
  • Organise safety training sessions and log incidents in the platform.
  • Investigate accidents and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Facilitate QHSSE audits and inspections.

# HSE Advisor FarciennesYour Work ContextFor the region of Charleroi, we are looking for an HSE Advisor who has a good knowledge of both English and French. You will be involved in our prestigious civil projects such as the expansion of new data centers, the construction of the Defence headquarters, the Oosterweel connection, etc. As an HSE Advisor, you are also responsible for implementing and monitoring the safety policy. You work closely with site management and ensure that the projects run smoothly and safely.Your RoleIn the morning, you start the day with a tour of the site. You put on your personal protective equipment and have a chat with the site manager, before heading out to the site together: How is the project going? What's planned for the next few weeks and months? Have there been any difficulties or problems? Are there things you need to know or can help resolve?During your tour, you observe the work with the site team and check that safety agreements are being followed. You have a conversation with the people working there and you are interested in what they are doing. Is there a problem with the safety of the works? Then you address it diplomatically.**A brief summary of some of your duties:*** You will monitor the safety and progress of the work for the projects under your responsibility at various stages of implementation by conducting risk analyses and safety inspections.* To do so, you consult with site and project management and engage with foremen, workers and subcontractors.* You prepare reports and develop safety procedures and toolbox meetings.* You prepare project-specific documents (HSE implementation plan, emergency plan, inspection and testing plan).* You help organize safety training sessions.* You observe and analyze safety issues that occur on a job site and log them correctly through our platform. You also follow up on these incidents.* You investigate accidents that occur on site. You can coach and guide.* You enjoy working in a team, but are also strong at working independently.* You can prioritize and plan effectively to meet deadlines.* You like variety. No two days are the same as an HSE Advisor. Your schedule can change completely at short notice and you often don't know how and where your day starts or ends.* You have a strong character. Do you see an unsafe situation? Then you dare to say so and investigate the matter thoroughly.
