Job summary

IMEC is seeking a Test Application & Automation Development Engineer to design, operate, and improve measurement infrastructure for high‑voltage device research in Belgium. The role combines development ownership of test platforms with broader lab engineering support across R&D programs.

The position is split 50/50 between developing, automating, and maintaining test infrastructure for high‑voltage GaN devices and providing tool support across a broader semiconductor R&D context.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a relevant field.
• 3+ years experience with laboratory instrumentation and electronic measurement systems.
• Hands-on experience building or maintaining test setups.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain test applications, measurement platforms, and automation solutions for high‑voltage device research.
• Design and integrate hardware, instrumentation, software, and safety systems into reliable test environments.
• Improve laboratory efficiency, throughput, data quality, and user experience through automation and standardization.
• Translate experimental requirements into practical engineering solutions.
• Act as tool owner for designated test infrastructure, ensuring availability and documentation.
