UCB in Brussels, Belgium, is seeking a visionary Head of Scientific Computing & Technology to lead the Digital Technology for R&D group. The role focuses on HPC capabilities, AI-enabled platforms, and integrated data architecture to accelerate research and early development.

You will guide a global team, collaborate with scientists and IT leaders, and shape the technology strategy while ensuring security, compliance, and reliable operations across platforms. Hybrid work with 40% in office.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in computer science, engineering or related field.
• 8+ years in technology leadership including HPC and software development.
• Experience leading teams and external contractors.
• Pharmaceutical or regulated research experience is a plus.
• Proven experience managing technology budgets and informed decision-making.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.

Responsabilités

• Steer the design of advanced technology solutions and high-performance compute platforms for scientific research.
• Lead, coach and inspire a diverse team of internal specialists and external contractors.
• Oversee planning, development, delivery, support and lifecycle management of the technology platform portfolio.
• Represent the team in relevant committees covering HPC and project prioritization.
• Manage stakeholder relationships across research teams, IT infrastructure, IT security and Enterprise Architecture.
• Plan, manage and control technology budgets, ensuring disciplined investments.
• Ensure all platforms remain secure, compliant and reliably operated.
