BESIX Group is seeking an ambitious Cost Control Manager for the Belgium-Luxembourg unit. You will lead a team of cost controllers, own consolidation and IFRS reporting, and ensure cost-control standards across the business.

The role requires strong analytical skills, multi-language capability, and site visiting willingness. You will collaborate with Project Managers and senior leaders to drive process improvements, budgeting, and timely monthly reporting.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in finance, economics, MBA or related field.
• At least ten years of relevant experience including five in cost control.
• Proven experience leading and developing finance professionals.
• Fluent in Dutch, French and English.
• Willingness to visit construction sites in Belgium and Luxembourg.
• Coaching and stakeholder management.
• Proactive with strong judgement and communication.

Responsabilités

• Team leadership: manage a growing team of ~12 Cost Controllers and coach members.
• Consolidation and financial reporting: own IFRS-based consolidation for BELUX; coordinate monthly closings.
• Project cost control: end-to-end cost control for one construction project during onboarding; forecast and cash-flow planning.
• Process improvement and business partnering: deliver studies across Belgium-Luxembourg and propose action points.

About the Role

For our Belgium Luxembourg Business Unit, we are currently looking for a Cost Control Manager. The Finance Department of Belgium Luxembourg is responsible for monitoring and managing the financial performance of approximately 100 construction projects, representing a total annual revenue of around €500 million.

You will join a diverse team of both junior and senior cost controllers, each bringing complementary expertise and strengths. The team operates in a highly collaborative and self-sufficient manner, with knowledge sharing and continuous learning being core values. Peer reviews and constructive challenges are an integral part of the team's way of working, fostering both personal development and the quality of our financial reporting.

Your Responsibilities

Team leadership

• Leading a growing team of approximately 12 Cost Controllers
• Directly managing approximately five team members
• Drive continuous improvement within the team by strengthening knowledge sharing, peer review practices and collaboration
• Ensuring consistent cost-control standards across the business unit
• Coaching team members and supporting their professional development

Consolidation and financial reporting

• Own the consolidation of project results across BELUX, ensuring that forecasts, actuals and reported economic results are complete, coherent and reconciled with the accounting records in accordance with IFRS. All details must be correct.
• Cooperate pro-actively with the accountants, especially during the monthly closing processes.
• Respect deadlines to report results and analyses to the Finance Director of Belgium Luxemburg on due time.
• Pro-actively build up the monthly reports and start collecting the info from several stakeholders.

Project cost control

• During your onboarding period, you will take end-to-end responsibility for the cost control of one construction project. This hands-on involvement will enable you to understand the operational processes, reporting requirements and challenges faced by the Cost Controllers you will lead.
• This includes forecasting, actual-cost follow-up, cash-flow planning, ageing analysis and coordination with the Project Manager and technical operational teams on site.
• You are responsible for reporting checked and coherent figures, to keep the economic result of the project completely in line with the bookkeeping following IFRS standards.

Process improvement and business partnering

• You prepare studies all over the projects of Belgium Luxembourg and are able to communicate a structured conclusion with a proposition of possible action points.
