ING Belgium seeks a seasoned Head of Compliance Quality Assurance to lead the monitoring of the end-to-end Compliance Control Framework. You will manage a team in Belgium and oversee remote hubs, partnering with business units to challenge risks and improve product and service quality.

You will define monitoring strategies, stay current on testing methods, and coach a growing team while ensuring actions are completed within timelines and budgets.

Qualifications

• Master degree required.
• 10-15 years in banking or internal audit.
• Excellent communication in English and either French or Dutch.
• Professional scepticism, analytical, able to synthesize.
• Flexible, people management, eager to learn.
• Proficient in data analytics.
• Willing to travel.

Your role & work environment

As Head Quality Assurance (QA) Compliance ING Be, you are responsible for the Compliance monitoring activities of ING Belgium. The mission of the QA team is to be a partner to business and support the ING strategy by 1) Monitoring and challenging, in an independent, risk based and efficient way, the effectiveness of the end-to-end Compliance Control Framework, 2) Reporting of compliance risks and monitoring the completion of the mitigating actions, 3) Assisting ING Belgium (and subsidiaries) in the quality enhancement of products and services and 5) Developing talent, with a broad understanding of compliance risks and controls, for the benefit of ING.

You manage a team of 6 persons in Belgium and oversees a team of 15 persons in the Compliance Hubs (Warsaw & Manilla). Your role includes oversight on the monitoring activities of ING Luxembourg.

You report to the Head of Compliance ING Belgium.

Your key responsibilities

• You define the compliance monitoring strategy and yearly monitoring plan for ING Belgium and you translate this strategy into the planning of individual monitoring missions.
• You remain up to date on developments in the field of monitoring & testing (including use of data analytics) and have a thorough understanding of the ING business and compliance related processes.
• You manage your stakeholders in the business, other second line of defence functions (including functional line) and Internal Audit.
• You coach, evaluate and provide regular feedback to the members of your teams.
• You supervise on a day-to-day basis the quality of their work and you ensure that the monitoring activities are finalized within the agreed timelines and budget.
• You communicate in a clear and easy to understand language on identified issues and remediation actions.

As Head of QA you will also need:

• Master degree
• Minimum 10-15 years of a career within the banking sector, or internal audit
• Excellent communication (verbally and written) & negotiation skills. (in English and French or Dutch)
• Professional scepticism, analytical, able to make a synthesis, flexible, people management skills, eager to keep learning.
• Proficient in use of data analytics
• Willing to travel
